About ME:
Primarily trained as a musical theatre actor, Emerson has performed at many venues across Los Angeles, from the smallest black box in Hollywood to the Walt Disney Concert Hall and even the Staples Center. From 2015 to 2019, he spent a good portion of time traveling the country and Canada performing first as a singing Penguin in Octonauts Live, and then as a singing Pig in Peppa Pig Live. Hey, it's a living. Kids need theatre too!
In 2019, after performing in every possible theatre in the US and Canada, he returned to Los Angeles and was cast in UMPO: A League of Their Own at Rockwell. He also voiced characters in the award-winning video game Oxenfree IIfrom Netflix and Night School Studios, and worked with Asher Entertainment to bring to life immersive experiences for major studios like Paramount Plus, Netflix, and Meta.
Most recently Emerson made his South Coast Repertory debut as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors! Garnering rave reviews from critics such as:
"adorkable and spirited [...] Boatwright makes for a fun, adorable Seymour—equal parts nebbishy and spunky with hints of a caged-up tiger needing to be let out." - Broadway World
…”Emerson Boatwright is the whole package; his vocals and demeanor are on point.” - Orange Curtain Review
“Emerson Boatwright is truly the best Seymour I’ve seen since Rick Moranis, capturing the character’s struggle and yearning in a way that feels both relatable and poignant…” -Fanboy Nation
Emerson is also a musical improviser, making up musicals on the spot with his indie team Hot Cakes. Recently, he made his dropout.tv debut on the hit show Breaking News!
